Meet the Director

   Sarah McQuarrie

Sarah McQuarrie comes from a background of performing, beginning when she was just six years old in South Australia. Now living in Melbourne’s inner west with her partner Jeremy and two beautiful children Ivy & Hunter, is the proud owner of Stomp Dance Co.

Running a dance company while raising two young children is no easy feat, however Sarah’s determination and dedication to her family, her team and to delivering high quality dance programs into schools is unwavering.

Meet the Team

Sian

Sian is a choreographer and dance teacher who brings a vibrant mix of creativity and experience to the Stomp team. She’s worked across the UK, Germany, and the UAE, with choreography featured on stage, screen, and in music videos for artists like Tones and I, Woodes, and Maddy Jane.

Her work has appeared on global stages, including Expo 2020 Dubai and the 2022 Commonwealth Games Handover Ceremony in Birmingham. Alongside commercial projects, Sian creates her own independent works and helps run the much-loved live music event Playing Field. Her classes are energetic, inclusive, and all about building confidence through movement. Sian has worked as a Stomp Instructor over the past 6 years, however you'll now mostly find her in the office managing bookings and communications with all of our wonderful schools.

 

Kira

Kira has been a stomp teacher since 2021. She grew up in country South Australia where she began dancing from the age of 3. To pursue her dance she moved to Melbourne at 18 to train full time at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of dance for 2 years. 

Since then she has performed at many events around Melbourne and currently performs for the AFLW Hawthorn team and also dances for the NBL South East Melbourne Phoenix dance group ‘Phoenix Flames’. 

Kira is a passionate teacher and loves to “hype” up her students by encouraging them to do their best and have fun. Her favourite part is watching the children’s confidence grow throughout a program and  the enjoyment on their faces that dance brings. 

Maddie

Maddie Teaching

Maddie is a Melbourne based dancer who began teaching at the age of 15. After completing high school Maddie went on to study and train for 2 years at Kelly Aykers Full Time Dance, where her love for dancing and choreographing developed further. As an enthusiastic performer she has danced in many events in Melbourne and is also apart of the hiphop company ‘The Legacy & Co’.

Maddie is a valuable member of Stomp Dance Company and is eager to help children find their passion for dance, and to encourage them to be active.

Michaela

Mich

Michaela grew up in South Australia and started dancing at the age of 3. Her passion for performance led her to study Music Theatre in Ballarat, where she continued to grow as both a dancer and performer. After graduating, she moved to Melbourne to pursue her love of dance and performance.

She has since worked both locally and overseas, before returning home to complete her Masters of Teaching. Michaela now enjoys combining her love of dance and education through her work at Stomp.

She’s passionate about making dance fun and accessible, and finds joy in seeing students build confidence, friendships, and a love for movement.

Issy

Issy Teaching-1

Isabelle has been dancing competitively since the age of 6, training in a wide range of styles. After high school, she continued her passion through Monash University’s competitive dance club, performing in Division 1 Pom, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop teams while studying Marketing.

Her highlights include winning gold in Pom and Jazz at the 2024 University World Championships in Croatia, and placing 2nd in a Pom duo—an achievement that led to representing Australia at the World Games in Hong Kong, where her duo placed 2nd out of 25 countries.

Issy brings her love for dance and teaching to every Stomp class, creating a fun, supportive space where students feel confident, connected, and excited to move.

Thalia

Originally from London, Thalia has been passionate about performing since childhood, training in dance and theatre from the age of 8 with Big Little Theatre Company and Steppin’ Out Dance Academy.

She became a qualified primary teacher in 2021 and quickly found ways to blend her love of education and the arts, running after-school dance and drama clubs. Since moving to Melbourne in late 2024, Thalia has loved being part of the Stomp team, bringing her creative energy and passion for performance to every class.

Darcie

Darcie’s love and passion for dance began at just 3 years old, and she started teaching at the age of 15

Based in Melbourne, Darcie has trained in a wide variety of styles including, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, ballet and music theatre. She has performed in countless concerts and competed in dance competitions, each experience further igniting her excitement for both dancing and teaching.

As a new member of STOMP Dance Company, Darcie is beyond excited to inspire and empower the next generation of dancers. She thrives on seeing the pure joy and confidence kids discover through dance. For her, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a kid's face light up when they nail a new step or shine on stage.
